Learning to ride the ski lift and the easiest beginner trails.LEVEL 3 – Introduce Wedge Christy Reduce size of the wedge and control speed by varying turn shape. Begin working on slight matching of the skis at the end of the turn.IntermediateLEVEL 4 – Refine Wedge Christy Earlier matching of skis. Expanding comfort zone (higher speed, varying terrain/snow) Improved confidence and control on all green and easiest blue slopes. PREREQUISITES: Be able to make skidded round Christy turns of various size and shape, control speed and stop.LEVEL 5 – Wedge Christy II Matching skis parallel prior to the fall-line. How to use poles. Adapting turn shape and speed to compliment terrain/snow. Introduction to skating. Exposure to more blue runs and different snow conditions. PREREQUISITES:Making linked, round skidded turns: controlling speed.LEVEL 6 – Beginning Parallel Turn Beginning parallel turns with a pole plant on blue runs. Vary turn shape and speed control to become more comfortable on steeper terrain. Improve skating techniques. PREREQUISITES:Round wedge chisty turns with pole touch. Skis parallel before fall-line.LEVEL 7 – Refine Parallel Turns Short radius parallel turns in the fall-line, medium and long radius carved parallel turns across the fall-line. Applied to a wide variety of trail amid snow conditions including groomed single black runs. PREREQUISITES:Making round, parallel turns with a pole touch and speed control.AdvancedLEVEL 8 – Dynamic Parallel Dynamic parallel turns. Adapting skills, turn size and tactics to varying terrain and snow conditions. Introduction to bump skiing.PREREQUISITES:Making short radius turns in the fall-line. Longer carved turns across the fall-line.LEVEL 9 – All terrain, All conditionsSelecting tactics to enhance skiing in all snow and terrain conditions. Developing step turns and their applications. Powder and crud skiing.PREREQUISITES:Dynamic parallel turns.LEVEL 10 – Introduction to RacingIntroduction to racing. Proper line selection through the course.
