The Schussmeisters’ Ski Club was founded in Flint, Michigan in 1961. Its purpose is to “…encourage participation in the sport of skiing, to improve individual skiing proficiency and to promote the social aspects of a ski group.” We are an adult ski club open to individual members 18 years old or older. Our member’s ages run from 18 to 80. Member’s children ages 13 to 18 years old can join as Jr. members at no cost. Jr. members receive all the benefits of a regular member with some restrictions regarding parties and events.
Membership benefits include free ski lessons, discount lift tickets, discounts at local ski shops, subscription to the Schuss News newsletter and access to all Club activities. We are also members of the Metropolitan Detroit Ski Council. For more information follow this link Click here.
Club activities are planned year-round. Fall membership meetings begin in September. These meetings are for joining or renewing membership in the club, signing up for lessons, signing up for ski trips and socializing.
Lessons start the first Thursday night in January and continue each Thursday night as long as Mt. Holly is open. Lessons are available for all levels of skiing and snowboarding ability.
One-day and weekend bus trips to ski areas in northern Michigan and in Canada are planned throughout the ski season. These ski areas may include Boyne Mountain, Boyne Highlands, Nubs Nob, Crystal Mountain or Schuss Mountain. In addition, week long trips to western ski areas are available.
Summer activities include golf outtings, weekly biking, white water rafting, canoeing, boating, Tiger baseball games, picnics etc.
