Season’s Greetings from the Schussmeisters’ of Michigan!
2019 is behind us, and our 2020 season begins on the 2nd of January! This season we will be holding our meetings in the Lift Lounge, at the dance floor end. It has been said that the elderly of which, I’m a prime suspect, don’t like climbing the stairs to the third level. So let’s try the 2nd level, where so many like to administer a little liquid muscle relaxer anyway. Meetings start at 7:00PM sharp, and are kept short so everyone can hit the slopes and do, what we’re there for, skiing and riding. As always you can purchase lift tickets from us, (your best value) starting at 5:00PM. Get out and get some early runs in to warm up for your lessons, or running gates. Don’t forget to sign up for lessons. Let us take a look and give you that little tip to balance you up and improve your turns.
New for 2020:
- Early Lessons. For those who can get out. We now offer lessons starting at 5:00PM. Ticket sales and lesson assignments start at 5:00PM in the lift lounge.
- Tuesday morning lessons. Not new, but it’s growing larger. 10:00AM to 12:00PM lessons at Mt Holly.
- Online Membership. Jumping into the 21st century your membership is going digital. You will now have an account linked to your email address with your personal password. Join, renew, and change your information and much more. For those that aren’t tech savvy no worries we will assist you at one of the fall meetings or if needs be get you a paper application.
6-4-1 had a good number of members riding the slopes in Boyne Country this season. It’s always good to see our members enjoying the Northern slopes and après ski festivities. This year the weather was a bit warm but the slopes were well covered and the skiing was, let’s just say spring conditions. Remember when the snow gets soft bring your wider boards 80 to 100mm.
We had a great group at this year’s New Members party, and judging from the bar bill, a good time was had by all. I tried to meet all of our new members attending, but if I missed you, please get my attention at our winter meetings. We want everyone to feel welcome in our club, and to meet their expectations as best we can. So don’t be shy, jump right in and have some fun. Our FREE lesson program is a great way to meet people and get involved. Our members are welcome to attend lessons as desired without any obligations, its ala carte, so take advantage.
Park City is now closed, unfortunately due to its early departure we couldn’t hold it open any longer.

You can still get on the waiting list for any of these great trips and if there is any way to get you on a trip we will make every effort. Of course at this late date the advertised prices may not apply. We want to accommodate as many members as possible.
The Italy trip still has two spots available. Contact Pam Bradshaw to get on this amazing ski vacation.

This event is continuing to move forward, and gaining momentum. We have an opportunity to help those with challenges enjoy this great sport that we love so much, and you can play a major roll. From pledging for someone’s runs, or gathering pledges for yours, to helping with the event’s needs, you can make a difference. Save the date, more information is coming very soon. Help share the joy of winter sports in the life of a special needs person here in our area.
We field several race teams each year for Mt Holly’s Monday night beer league. If you’re interested registration is Monday Jan. 6th in the Top of the Mountain room third floor above the ticket office. I’ll be there forming teams. No experience needed.
